Overview

ScreenDraw Pro is a browser extension that lets you draw, annotate, and take screenshots on web pages. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.

The short version: ScreenDraw Pro does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

ScreenDraw Pro does NOT collect any data. Specifically:

❌ No user accounts or authentication is required
❌ No data is transmitted to any server
❌ No third-party services or SDKs are used

Data Storage

ScreenDraw Pro stores the following data locally on your device only, using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.local API:

Data	Purpose
Drawing tool preferences	Remember your last used tool, color, brush size, and opacity
Custom keyboard shortcuts	Store your personalized shortcut key mappings
Drawing mode state	Remember whether drawing mode was on or off

This data:

Never leaves your device
Is not synced to any cloud service
Is not accessible to any website or third party
Is automatically deleted when the extension is uninstalled

Permissions Explanation

ScreenDraw Pro requires certain browser permissions to function. Here is a transparent explanation of each:

`activeTab`

Why: To access the currently active tab when you activate drawing mode. What it does NOT do: It does not grant access to other tabs or any browsing history.

`storage`

Why: To save your preferences (tool settings, custom shortcuts) locally on your device. What it does NOT do: No data is sent anywhere. Storage is local only.

`scripting`

Why: To inject the drawing canvas overlay onto web pages when you activate the extension. What it does NOT do: No scripts are injected without user action. No page content is read or modified.

`tabs`

Why: To detect the active tab for screenshot capture functionality. What it does NOT do: No tab URLs, titles, or browsing history are collected or stored.

`host_permissions: <all_urls>`

Why: Required so the drawing overlay can be injected on any website you choose to annotate. What it does NOT do: The extension does not monitor, read, or modify any web page content. It only adds a transparent canvas overlay on top of the page when you explicitly activate it.

Screenshots

When you use the screenshot feature (full page or region capture):

The screenshot is captured locally using Chrome’s built-in captureVisibleTab API
The image is either saved to your computer as a PNG file or copied to your clipboard
No screenshot data is uploaded, transmitted, or stored by the extension
Screenshots are processed entirely in memory and discarded after saving/copying

Third-Party Services

ScreenDraw Pro uses zero third-party services, libraries, APIs, or analytics platforms. The extension is entirely self-contained.

Children’s Privacy

ScreenDraw Pro does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected in this document with an updated “Last updated” date. Since the extension collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.

Open Source

ScreenDraw Pro’s source code is publicly available for inspection. You can verify that the extension does exactly what this policy states by reviewing the code yourself.
